Justa Sturies

Justa “Tootie” Carol Sturies, 87, passed away on November 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Woodward, Iowa to W.W. McRunnels and Vera (Floyd) Rans and raised in Perry, Iowa, Justa grew up with a strong work ethic and a warm, steady presence that remained with her throughout her life. daughters, and spent the majority of their lives. Earlier this year, Justa relocated to Bedford, Texas, to live with her daughter Cathy.

Justa spent many years working with Sturies Construction, where she handled bookkeeping and painting with her characteristic diligence and pride. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures—her beloved cats, visiting casinos, and most of all, spending time with her

grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Sturies; her daughter, Carol Colleen Sturies; her parents; brothers, Richard McRunnels, William McRunnels, Max McRunnels and Jim McRunnels; sister, Alice Menz.

Her legacy of love, resilience, and gentle humor lives on through them and all who knew her. Graveside services will be set for a later date at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden, Iowa.

Justa will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
