Beverley Rose

Beverley Ann Rose passed away peacefully in her home on September 27, 2022. She was born in Orange City, Iowa, on January 22, 1938, the daughter of Frank and Johanna (Roghair) Vander Broek. She graduated from Orange City High School in 1956 and attended Northwestern College in Orange City. On August 23, 1959, Bev married Clifford Rose in Ogden, Iowa. Clifford and Beverley lived in Ogden their entire married life. She continued living in Ogden following Clifford’s death, until moving to Madrid in the Spring of 2021.

Beverley worked for many years at the Eastern Star Masonic Home as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant before retiring in 2000. She enjoyed reading, visiting casinos, and in earlier years, she enjoyed polka dancing. She was a life-long sports fan and especially loved watching the Chicago Cubs. Many afternoons you could find her, along with her many good friends, playing cards, doing puzzles, telling stories and enjoying some good laughter. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Edward, Franklin, and Gerald Vander Broek, five sisters Marie Michelotti, Vera Slobe, Frances Thompson, Shirley Boon, and Marilyn Vander Broek; Beverley is survived by her son Tim Rose of West Des Moines; her daughter Peggy Nardini and husband John, grandchildren, Michael Nardini of Lenox and Micah (Ryan) Benes of Grimes; two great grandchildren, Brazen and Maxen Benes; Sisters-in-Law Grayce Vander Broek of Riverside, California, and Veeny Rose-Jefferson and husband Dick of Altoona and many nieces and nephews.
