Marcy Schleif

Marchelle “Marcy” Schleif, 63, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.

A visitation for Marcy will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm. Marchelle K Munson, daughter of Gary and Judith (Malcom) Munson was born on November 5, 1960 in Boone, Iowa. She graduated from Boone High School with the class of 1979. Marcy then attended DMACC where she earned her Nursing Degree.

Marcy worked as a nurse at the Boone County Hospital for many years. She also worked as a Charge Nurse for several skilled care facilities in Greene and Webster Counties.

On April 26, 1982, Marcy married Ron Peterson at the First Baptist Church in Boone. To this union, two daughters were born: Kristin and Karrie. The couple later divorced.

On March 15, 2015, Marcy was united in marriage to Willy Schleif at the Boxholm Methodist Church.

Marcy loved to plant flowers and any outdoor activities. When she was young, she enjoyed riding horses. Marcy did not know a stranger, she loved to visit with everyone. She also liked to attend the Iowa State Fair. But most important to her was her time spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, Marcy was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law Bonnie.

Survivors include her husband, Willy Schleif of Boxholm; her two daughters, Kristin (Josh) Wilson of Ogden, and Karrie (Curtis) Widener of Perry; five grandchildren, Bain, Halie, Hanna, Grayson, and Briar; and her brother Mike Munson of Boxholm.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
