Nathan Swigert

Nathan Swigert, 17, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at UnityPoint Health ~ Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services for Nathan will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, February 14th at Zion Lutheran Church. Nathan Swigert, son of Troy Swigert and Amy Swigert was born March 25, 2007, in Boone, Iowa. He attended school in Ogden, where he was a senior with the class of 2025.

Nathan had many outdoor interests including helping his father on the farm and bike riding. He also enjoyed video games, playing cards, basketball, and golf.

Nathan is survived by his father, Troy Swigert of Ogden; mother, Amy Swigert of Ames; brother, Jackson Swigert of Ogden; grandparents, George and Marg Swigert of Ogden; paternal uncle, Tim Swigert; and cousins, Haley and Sarah Swigert; maternal uncle, Chris (Therese) Fleck of Minneapolis, MN; maternal aunts, Kathleen Tennison of Houston, TX, Stacy Gibbins of Storm Lake, IA, and Sheilah (Joel) Lizer of Des Moines; and cousins, Luke Fleck, Lydia Fleck, Mary Catherine Tennison, Blake Gibbins, Tyler, Lizer, Jade (Tyler) Lutyens, Joelle Lizer, and Jay Lizer.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sandy Fleck and Bud Fleck; and maternal uncle, Anthony Gibbins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
