Robert Kieffer

  Robert John “Bob” Kieffer, 65, of Ogden, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Westhaven Community in Boone, Iowa following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

 

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden with Father Timothy Johnson officiating.  Private family burial will be held at a later date at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Ogden.  Visitation will be held from 3-6 P.M. on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden with a scripture service beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements.  For online obituaries and condolences, please visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

 

  Robert John Kieffer, son of Thomas and Dorothy (Heman) Kieffer was born on October 20, 1958 in Ames, Iowa.  He attended Ogden Schools and graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1977, where he was an outstanding student and athlete.  Bob was selected to play in the first Iowa High School All Star Baseball Game.  Bob attended Iowa State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 1982.  Following his education, Bob worked for over 30 years at Boone County, retiring as Boone County Engineer in 2014.  Bob always took great pride in the quality of the roads and bridges in Boone County.  Following retirement, he would tutor kids in math at the Ogden Schools.

 

 On June 22, 1991, Bob was united in marriage to Lisa Lynn Streit at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Moorland, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Michael and Kara.  Bob and Lisa resided for 30 years in the house that he designed and helped build.

 

  Bob enjoyed and excelled at woodworking, especially working alongside his Dad.  He also had a passion for golf with his proudest moment being his hole-in-one at Don Williams Golf Course on September 16, 2019 on Hole #3.

 

 In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his brother, Wilmer “Bill” Kieffer.

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Kieffer of Ogden; two children, Michael and fiancé Lindsay Peters of Nevada, and Kara and husband Eric Syverson of Norwalk; one sister, Mary Jo (Tom) Hromatka of Urbandale; four brothers, Jim (Linda) Kieffer of Forest City, Tom (Michelle) Kieffer of Urbandale, Steve (Traci) Kieffer of Ogden, and Don (Alison) Kieffer of Fayetteville, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  Memorials may be directed to the family and will be donated to: Iowa Optimism Walk For Parkinson’s Disease under Team Ogden which will be held on September 21, 2024 in Urbandale.
