Irene Delp

Irene L. Delp, 92, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away at Westhaven Community in Boone on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

Private family burial will be held prior to services at Junction Township Cemetery in Grand Junction. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Chaplain Bryan Latchaw will officiate. Irene Lucille Scholl was born on August 6, 1929, in Platte, South Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Ethyl (Fyler) Scholl. She attended country school in the area of her birth and went on to graduate from Platte High School.

On December 22, 1949, Irene was united in marriage to Warren J. Delp in Mitchell, South Dakota. To this union three children were born: Kathleen, Douglas, and Duane.

Warren and Irene farmed south of Jefferson and then farmed in rural Greene County until retiring and moving into Ogden

Irene enjoyed cooking, gardening, neighborhood card club, and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Sonksen of Aurelia, Iowa, and her daughters Andrea Sonksen (deceased), and Melanie (Wesley) Pierce and their children, Aspen and Sylven; son, Douglas (Lisa) Delp of Dana, Iowa, and their children, Joel Delp, and Kaylee Delp; and son, Duane (Donna) Delp of Jefferson, Iowa, and their children, Onica Delp, and Austin Delp; one brother, Raymond (Mary Lee) Scholl of Platte, South Dakota; and one sister, Donna Westra of Platte, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Warren Delp on February 10, 2014.
